My power trim does not lower and is stick in the up position. I have checked everything. I am getting fluid to the cylinders but they are not lowering. I have checked to make sure that it is not stuck on the gimbal ring..it is clear.

Any suggestions.

Is the switch making the pump run? Or is it just clicking? Or are you pushing the button and there is nothing at all. Could be a number of things... I would start with all connections check for tight and clean. Then make sure switch is working. Then check relays. Let us know what exactly is happening...

Add about 4 ounces of 10-30, 10-40 or even ATF. It might take a little more but it's just low on fluid.

Then, after it sits for a while (in the down position) you fill the resovouir properly. Don't fill it in UP position.

Re: 07 Searay 185 Sport tilt trim problem

I have filled the fluid up, it is full. I have checked all the connections, they are good and clean. I know I am getting fluid to the cylinders due to have I disconnected the lines that are connected to the cylinders, when I pushed the button up and down fluid comes out of each the four lines. I am thinking that the cylinders are stuck in the up position? I am considering disconnecting them from the outboard and see if I can manually push them to see if that can will work. Any thoughts?
