OK, have read most of the milk shake looking mixture water in oil horror stories but haven't come across this scenario.
Engine running good on muffs, slight knocking noise from lower end.
Shifting and all throttle operations performed fine
140psi compression across the board
Temp nice and low well within the green band
Oil pressuire @ 40psi
Oil looks fine on dipstick but maybe a quart to much in pan yesterday
After 2-3 minutes oil began seeping out aft portion of engine losing about a half quart all toll
Small amount of water spewing out from around timing cover
Location of oil leak near RMS and front water spray appears to near FMS but not 100% certain without pulling engine...
Don't mind performing a seal job but need to know if block being cracked could be causing leak and I should just purchase a reman and swap parts over..

if it has a lower end knock i would also be looking into miking the crank out. a know is usually a good indication of a rod bearing being worn to much and the rod is litterally slapping back down on the crank due to excessice wear

Could this also contribute to both RMS and FMS wear and leaking oil as described? Do blocks usually crack back there? BTW the oil in the pan is still new looking and there was no smoking or anything else unusual..

Ayuh,... The FMS don't hold back Water, No water there...
Look to the circulating water pump...

If the RMS is Gone,..
Ya gotta pull the motor anyways...

Yank it, 'n LOOK it over....

Re: 1989 3.0l leaking oil

Took her out today for WOT test to verify problems and made following discoveries:
Water Circulator growling badly, will replace...
Timing cover corroded bad enough to warrant replacement...
Oil leak at aft portion of engine near RMS is about a tablespoon every half hour, still unclear about actual source and fix.
Tapping noise exists only at idle.
Any suggestions?
