QD16 Low speed knob

The low speed and high speed knobs vibrate out of position when the motor is running. I have tried to tighten them with a screw driver but didn't want to break anything. Runs great when I can keep them in position. I often find that when idling I have to adjustment to keep it running.

Any suggestions?

You need to tighten the packing nut on each of 'em to cinch down the packing beneath and seat 'em onto the side of your needle, causing enough friction as to not vibrate out. If your fiber packing washers are black and hard, replace 'em. 307583 (2 for each needle). Good luck!

Thanks!! Still Trying to figure this thing out... Motor was given to me and I have not Outboard motor experience.
