I'm a bit stumped. E150GLERV - '94 Evinrude 150 Intruder that I just purchased I did a Link/Sync on.. Everything was fine except idle timing. The idle timing tab is as advanced on the base as possible but I am at about 2 degrees ADTC. This was checked using a timing light. Analyzer is coming this week to verify my readings but if they are correct how do I get a couple more degrees of timing when there is no more adjustment left. Idle in the water is a bit low - 500RPM in gear. Thanks for any replies.

i believe you retard the timing to up RPMs..so maybe 1 or 0 degrees ADTC would get you up to 800

You Advance the timing to get more rpm's. Is this mtr running on all 6 cyl's ??. You go against c/s rotation to advance timing.

correct..i meant advance...but would 1 or 0 ADTC not increase RPMs? but he may have a carb idle clog or ignition issue also

Motor runs very well--- to 3/4 throttle opening. When the throttle is approx 3/4 open and you go WOT very little power increase is noticed. This is why I though I should start with the link/sync. Found the idle timing issue and figured I had better deal with one thing at a time.
