86 Yamaha won't trim up

I have a 86 motor that will not trim up but
will trim down. I changed the solenoid but no change. i even tried to switch the up and down of the trim switch but still down and no up. First time boat owner someone help!:confused:

Does the motor come on when you trim it up? I would unscrew the manual release valve and position the outboard in the full up postion and check the fluid. I think the screw will be on the stbd or port side perpindicular to the transom where the engine is mounted. It will be a flat/slotted screw driver head. Make sure this is screwed in all the way somewhat lightly.
