I have a 1997 ProLine 23 WAC with a 5.7 XL Bravo II. Can anyone tell me what the 1/4" plugs on the back of the risers are for ? They are not hooked up to anything, are they for flushing ?
Thanks !

Re: Mercruiser Risers

I assume your engine is raw water cooled.
Those openings with the plugs are where the raw water would exit in the case where you have a FWC'd system (including the manifolds).

Hope that helped.....

I'm sorry this motor is closed cooling and these plugs are just above the the cooling water to the exhaust.
Thanks again.

If there at the bottom, there drains. If there on top of the riser, there for emission testing
