Replace 1/4" plywood on hull?

I recently bought a 1959 Albright runabout and the plywood hull is bad. I've read that on small boats (12 ft.) that it's easier to replace the wood than to repair the holes. Am about to begin the work but am looking for advice from those with experience. I've heard good things about PL Construction Adhesive and plan to use it. I don't know about sealing, filling gaps, epoxy vs. poly resin, paint, etc.
Questions will follow with regards to the outboard...also 1959, Johnson 35hp, which has sat in a shed for the past 20 years!
Thank you,
J

I would post your restoration questions in the hull repair section for the answers your looking for..... This is a good place to get your Johnson questions answered.

Epoxy is the preferred product when working on Wood hulls. Thickened epoxy with added chopped fibers will be your best bet for filling gaps. I have a great pdf on wooden boat restoration and would be glad to share it with you. Send me a PM with you private email adress and I'll send it to you.
