Re: Starter problems

First Cold start issue: Is the choke working? Make sure choke plates close when choke button is pushed. Set cold start lever all the way up and hold choke button while cranking until motor fires, when cold starting.

Starter issue: Starter could have bad winding, which gives a dead spot on commutator. Brushes could also be sticking. Need to open starter up, clean commutator and inspect brushes and springs.
