After reading the many replies to perhaps the same problems I seem to be having with my motor, I thought I would ask for some help.
I have a Evinrude 6hp fisherman engine that I have recently purchased. The guy I bought it from said it was a mid 70's model. I am unable to fine a serial numer on it, only a small disk with CO568740 in it.
I am after a manual to look after this engine but not sure which one to get. Can anyone suggest on.
I had it on the river for a test last night. After some tugging I finally got it going. It seems to run smoothly and tops out in gear at about 6-7 mph. Is that right. I revs higher when in neutral. I turned the slow idle nob in whilst running, this increased the revs somewhat and I was able to go alittle faster. Don't get me wrong I do not want to travel at top speed as I will have my children with me. I am only wishing to find out that this motor is capable of getting me out for a troll with the family without problems.
I stopped it further up the river so I could see if it would start from hot. Again this took a number of pulls to get going again. I'm trying to upload a video of it running on the river but not managing.
