On the CT River today, went thru what I'll call a debris field. Lots of small wood/branches. Wasn't going fast , maybe 6 mph. Heard a few clunks, wasn't to concerned.

Once back on the trailer, I noticed some wood, stuck in what looks like a vent in the front of the zink trim tab on the cavitation plate. I got most of it out, but will need to remove the tab to get the rest.

My question, is this a water input, or a drain of some sort. I've seen a lot of outboards, but never seen a vent like this, it's actually part of the trim tab. Kind of like a small (1/4"X3/8") channel..

This is an auxillary pickup to direct cooling water onto the exhaust. Clean it out and good to go.
