1998 25HP 4 stroke carb plunger issue leaking

after a complete carb cleaning motor is running fine, BUT fuel leak on rubber boot of the pump rod when I juice the throttle . Did I miss replacing some type of O ring? Should I just replace the plunger? Any help appreciated- dont feel safe running like it is.

So you did not rebuild the pump and choke enricher?

Did you replace the accel pump diaphram when you cleaned it?

I did replace the pump diaphram on the fuel pump. this is the pump on the rear of the engine. the leak I am getting is seepage from the bottom of the rubber boot around the rod-plunger mechinism on the carb. Only leaks when accelerrated. hope this helps.
