We need more info, Mikey. Tell us about your boat, your prop and their history.

JB

Try a different prop if you have one. If your prop has an insert that goes over the splines, it may be slipping.
Good luck

I have 15' challenger 1983. I just bought it about a week ago and it has been nothing but headaches. there seems to be a little water in the lower unit oil, but very little. I had the throttle apart because my "gas" cable was slipping. I went back together nicely. So I think that it went back together nicely.

------------------
Thanks,

I took the prop off to look at the splines. They looked good. When I was putting the nut back on I was holding the prop in one hand and tightening the nut in the other. The prop was turning when the shaft wasn't and vice-versa

------------------
Thanks,

Thanks guys I took the prop in to the boat shop. It was the prop hub shock absorber. It was trashed. I'm out of commission for a week while it is being fixed, but at least we figured out what is wrong.
