2005 merc 8hp 4stroke. I have a 20"long shaft and the new boat requires a 25". all extension kits I have found are for 9.9hp and up. I only have maybe 10 hours on this motor so I do not want to trade it in if I don't have to. any ideas? kicker bracket is a welded aluminium bracket so mounting a swivel bracket is a no go. I am currently thinking about a hydraulic jack plate to lower the motor.
