Re: tubes

not familure with the boat does it have the ski pylon or not? if not then you need the $15. harness that goes from both transome eye hooks [the same eyes you use with the transome straps on the trailer]. then get a 55+ rope. i like the kwik-connect or what ever they call it. as for a tube are you pulling 5-10yo or 10+? a normal donut tube is great for beginners as they get more skilled or older the flat ones will work better faster on plane and in corners. your best bet is probably a single person tube. i couldn't find a set on iboats but they sell the harness, rope, and tube just take your pick. the prices are about the same as any store near me so it comes down to shipping and if you want to support them :)

Re: tubes

Welcome to iboats!

Got some technique advice to offer...

We switched from a donut tube to a flat disk type last year as our son was was wanting a little more control and the ability to kneel up on it. The donut was good from age 5 but he was 8 last summer and comfortable enough to be able to sit on something rather than in it.

One problem we did have and that I read a few posters here also experienced with the "holeless" donuts was submarining on launch. That is, we'd try to ease him up on plane and the bloody tube would head for the bottom of the lake instead. It turned out to be a combination of my launch method and not enough air in the thing. Glad I discovered this as I was ready to return it for a refund.

So, if this happens to you, make sure it's pumped up good and tight without over inflating it and when you launch, hit the gas quick and hard to pop the thing out of the water. Once up on top you can throttle back or whatever, but for me, a slow easy start was definitely not the way to go with this type of tube. That worked fine for the donut but not the disk. Now he wants a wakeboard...

Ah well - just watching the joy on his face as he flips and flies about back there is more than worth the price of admission.

Good luck, have fun and be safe!
