Cousin has this engine, has the push button start on motor, tried to install key switch on console, no luck, battery wire for batt to (b) on switch, and a wire from (s) on switch to starter , no luck
i used a test light and found wire off his pushbuton thats only hot while pushbutton pressed, thats where i hooked the (s) off keyswitch, seems that shouldve done the trick, very wierd, his doesnt seem to have solenoid
the 78 9.9 is wired direct between tiller handle battery and starter. you will have to install a starter solenoid if you intend to do it with a remote key and and push button. The wires that you are running will not carry enough current to make things work right. Install new solenoid. you will need two battery cables. One from battery to solenoid and one from other side of solenoid to starter. post back results.
