I found an older discussion where a guy upgraded his pump from 3 to 4 wire, mine has a 4 wire and the guy I bought it from said he put in a new fuel pump that I found functions as the oil pump too, am I correct?? The same discussion says to unplug this pump to test the alarm, I did this and I still have no chirp from alarm when I
turn the ignition key on. Would this indicate a faulty alarm?? Here is a bigger question, before I even knew for sure the alarm wasnt working I had a boat mech. tell me what he recommends for iffy alarm is to fill the vro oil container and ALSO run a 50 to 1 pre-mix in the gas tank. I find this hard to believe due to too much oil. Any thoughts will help me out--thanks.

It will smoke a lot and perhaps idle poorly but it is a good suggestion. Check your reservoir if you are using oil from it discontinue the premix.
