1998 I/O Mercruiser, GM V8, 350 - 5.7L . Engine oil became very hot, about 250 degrees at the oil filter. Prior to this problem the oil pressure was checked-out at 60 to 70 psi, new pressure switch installed, 15 Hrs. on oil and filter and I had no oil problems before this incident. Boat oil gauge maintained a 40 psi reading during and after the problem.

I'm not following you. What incident? The overheat, or the repair, and what "Switch" are you referring to? The gauge sender or the alarm switch? Neither one has anything to do with the actual oil pressure.
