I have a 86 28hp Johnson mounted on a 86 Sea Nymph. I acquired this boat recently. I notice it has a the self mix OMC 6 gal fuel tank. On the tank lable it says that it is a 100:1 ratio mix when filled. I read post that say to use 50:1 mix. My ?? is if filling the oil side and six gal fuel can I also add the right amount of oil to the fuel side for the 6 gal mix to make it 50:1 ratio. In other words add @1.25 oz per gal or 7 oz to the 6 gal gas????
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: OMC TANK oil/fuel mix ISSUES

I would fill the fuel side 50:1 or better yet use a tank that doesn't have the oil tank. Those tanks weren't reliable at mixing oil unfortunately. You want to use 50:1 in your outboard and premixing is the only way to ensure it gets it.
