hi, i had a flywheel key sheer before on this mariner 55hp about 1976 model i got it repaired and went out twice and it went again.so to try and save money i got a new well second hand flywheel and woodruff key the man i got them of told me i must lap the flywheel on the shaft so i have done it the way he told me to.put it all in and started it up,it starts but its running like a bag of spanners its misfiring and smoking a lot .the fuel mixtures right.what i want to know is when you take off and refit the flywheel do you have to do timing tuning ECT there is black oil on the top spark plug bottom one is clean and in the water in the tub black oil .do you think its a timing problem any advise and how to do the job would be a great help cheers every one,neil
