push button start wiring

Hi there, re-wiring the boat this year and wanted to install a push button start. I have an on-off key switch and a momentary contact NO push button. I think I know what I want to do but thought I would check with the gods first. I have a mercruiser 898 I/O.

I think I put the purple from the wiring harness on the line side of the key switch, a jumper from the load side of the key switch to one side of the momentary switch, and the yellow/red stripe from the wiring harness to the other side of the momentary switch.

I should be able to turn the key to "on" and then push the button to start the engine. Turn the key to "off" to kill the engine. Any tips would be appreciated.

Just make sure the start switch goes through your neutral safety switch so you can't start the engine in gear.

Thanks Bruce, I forgot to mention it in my post. That's a big one!
