I have a 1996 Merc. EFI outboard that I'm getting worked on for its yearly maintenance. I was told my middle unit had cracked bolt holes and my exhaust tuner was cracked and beat up. So i bought one from a guy all the way across the country from me. When i got it, my repair shop told me that the tuner was not right and he was not sure if case was or not until he looked at my original and this one sitting side by side. My question or questions are
1-Was there only one 150 EFI exhaust tuner and middle unit that year, no mid year changes? Any info on that would be appreciated
2- Where is a reputable place to purchase a correct tuner? preferably used since the new ones i was told were $600-$700
