This seems pretty elementary but I thought I'd check and see if anyone could advise before I just went at it. I've got a transom problem and need to remove the motor. Its got a hydraulic power tilt and I don't want to just go removing the lines willy nilly. Its a Mercury 115 from the 70's.
My intention is to tilt the motor up, prop it with a transom saver, and then unhook the lines from the motor side. Will the fluid just juice out everywhere?
When I go to move it, I expect the cylinders to compress. This means more juicing right?
Do I risk any damage to the system this way? Is there a better way?
