I have a 1953 Johnson 10 hp that has not run in years. Seams to have good compression and I just cannot get it started. I have no manuals for parts or srevice. The gas tank holds pressure. It seams to be getting fuel! Please HELP!!!

It might help to go to the "Top Secret File" at the top of the page and read the section on awakening an engine. Lots of good stuff there.

Your motor almost undoubtedly will have bad coils under the flywheel if original, or it's been a long time since it was used. If you click on the "johnson and evinrude outboards" forum, and scroll up to the top of the list, you'll see the top secret files and when you enter it, you'll see a list of stuff which will include pics and instructions on how to change the coils and adjust the points. ....
