Adjustable brackets for bunk placement

I have just recently purchased a 17FT center console. The trailer that came with the boat was not a good fit for the boat. While trying to retro fit new bunks to better support the boat, I realized that the front cross member is round, therefore not allowing the bracket to fit like it would for a square crossmember. Should I just add a new crossmember or do you thing that the front bracket will hold fine on a round cross member. Any info is appreciated

Thanks,

Welcome to iboats Keepi.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

But, If you are clamping one end of the bunk onto the round crossmember, it should hold.
Where could it go with the rear bracket securely clamped to the trailer?

I was thinking the same thing, The rear crossmember is square so it should hold the front from twisting forward. Thanks for the reassurance, I'll let you know how it goes once I'm finished and launched.
