Anybody know what this boat is exactly?

i was cruising craigslist this mourning and this popped up....

what kind of boat is this or what is it used for? Is it for people that want a small cruising boat instead of getting a seadoo? I thought it was weird it had a bimini top but not sure it is original. I've seen old ones this small you could build for like a personal speed boat but didn't think any manufacture made anything like this that was newer.

It's called an Addictor. It's a little like the precursor of the Craig Cat.

Yep as stated in th ad, an Addictor. Before jetski's came along and dominated personal watercraft, these boats were the rentals of choice at resorts.
They are becoming somewhat collectible as well...

Fletcher, I'm not sure what boat you posted (the Craigslist Ad is down now). I just purchased an Addictor 333 from Medicine Lake, MN. I live in Edina. It is my first boat and have taken it out to Medicine Lake, Lake Minnetonka, and Lake Elmo. Did you end up purchasing the one you posted? I'd be interested in meeting up with another Addictor owner to go cruising. I also would like to share ideas, as I will be reworking mine (steering, tilt&trim, etc) to try to get it running to the best of its ability. Below are some pics of my new Addictor.
