Can anyone tell me how to remove the back rest, please? Boat is a Bayliner 285 2004 model.

I have removed the seat as a whole but cannot find a way to remove the backrest from it. It seems that I should be able to pull it off the metal tubes mounted on the base of the seat, as I cannot see a way of separating the base from the tubes themselves.

Any help would be appreciated - I need to get the seat fixed and back on before next weekend, ideally!

Look for screws in the " split cord " on the the back .. pry them open to expose the screws..

or you have a blind tang on the back where you can push " UP " and remove ..

Im guessing you have split cord fasteners on the back though...
