Ok So I am moving along with the boat repair and mini restoration. I have replaced the floor and transform. Now I am at the point where I need to do somthing about seats in the boat.

The seats are a blueish color but are faded bad. The framing on the seats are plywood and covered with foam and vinyl. I am looking to dye the vinyl since I am on a limited budget. Does anyone have any good advice? What type of dye to use?

Re: experience with dying vinyl seats?

I have used Duplicolor vinyl dye (seemed more like paint) and it did work pretty well.

It looked much better than I expected. I can't speak of its long term durability though because I redid the vinyl shortly after I sprayed it. The color was fine, but I had a lot of tears and cracks. There are several videos on youtube showing vinyl color changes.
