I'm new to this forum I have a 19 foot wellcraft with a v8 I got the boat and the drive unbolted from it. The drive needs to be rebuilt but my dad had an extra alpha 1 gen II outdrive that is in great condition. The boat is a 1984 and my alpha one is a 1995... I have had people Yepp me the drive won't work on my bell housing that the se106 came off of and the shifting shaft won't work? Any help I would appreciate

You might post this in the Mercruiser forum, as those folks will know the answer. The bell housing is Alpha I gen I or earlier. The Gen II had the gear oil resevoir in the boat, so the castings are at least a bit different.
