Hello all i was about to post this question and noticed frank answered a similar one from a 125 84 model. I have the 85 hp 1985 and only have the 2 marks on my flywheel also. Is it the same setup? Far right one is the tdc and the one to the far left is 30 degree?? Also i cant figure out how to adjust it. I see the nut up way under the flywheel but is that the right one? Is there a trick to getting up to it with the motor turning?

Re: Timing mark again

The flywheels are exactly the same, so timing marks are also the same.

Since the locknut and screw slot are under the flywheel, adjustments to timing are done with the engine stopped.

Because you don't want to paint the flywheel red and join the nine finger club, you stop the engine before making adjustments. Therefore adjustments must done multiple times and in small increments to get the advance correct.
