Are the Johnson 9.5 HP lower gear units(cases) the same for 1964-1973? Ihave a 1966, will a 1973 work? Thanks in advance!

Not sure if they span that many years. You could look them up in the parts breakdown and see if part numbers match up.

It is my understanding that all the 9.5hp motors used the same lower unit.

The reason I ask is I see a seal kit that covers the years of 1964-1967 and another one that goes from 1967-1973. Was wondering if there was a design change.
