Alpha 1 ratio

How can I tell what gear ratio my alpha 1 is its a 5.7 engine but im thinking someone switched the out drive, Is there a way of telling wht it is.

Look on the port side of the upper gear housing. Should be stamped in the same area as the serial number.

It is usually stamped into the metal of the drive, if I recall correctly. you will see a number like 1.5 or 1.84 or 1.32 or 2.0.

My problem was just the opposite, my last boat came with a 4 cylinder and the 1:87 ratio (I think) and got a 5.7 swapped in. MAN it had a holeshot! Is that the engine that came in the boat? Also, the higher ratio drives could be ordered for "High Altitudes" to improve performance.
