You may want to check to confirm if the link above is the correct part number to "your" engine as there have been some big changes made to the service manuals. I did not check the Mercruiser service manual part number in the above link myself, But to my knowledge the latest Mercruiser service manual #31 has not yet been put out for free online downloads that I have seen thus far?

Local 631's Serial number is 0m372460. Below is the serial number break between the new and old service manual #31 for the V8 ENGINES 5.0, 5.7, 6.2 engines.

Mercruiser service manual part number 90-8613271 SERVICE MANUAL SN# 0L677226 & Below
Mercruiser service manual part number 90-864260T00 SERVICE MANUAL SN# 0L677227 & Up

You may need to order a new service manual (part number 90-864260T00) from a Mercruiser dealer if you would like to own the exact manual for your engine.

The MSRP for part number 90-864260T00 is $99.95.

Yeah, I gave him the wrong one, and I knew better. 24 only goes to 01. I did change the link to manual 31.
There is a newer 31 manual out for the 08 and newer, but the 31 manual I linked him to will work fine for his 2003 vintage engine and everything up to 08
