04 Rinker 192, with about as light as it will every get, say 2800lbs, 5.0L carb 220hp, 1.62 gear ratio, 14x23p 3-blade mercruiser aluminum prop, 4600-4700rpm, will pull 51-52 mph. Holeshot is acceptable.

I need a spare prop and instead of buying the same thing, thought I would try maybe a 4-blade. Prob want to stay aluminum, and thought about a Solas Amita-4 in a 14x23p. Will it simply improve hole-shot or will I lose too much RPM? The sales guy today insisted that the Solas 4-blades will maintain top-end.

Just haven't tried anything else, and if anything, I don't really want to lose mid-RPM cruise speed. I guess for a spare, it doesn't really matter as long as it serves another purpose.

Drop an inch in pitch. You will keep your desired rpm and will stay close to top end. If you keep the 23P with a 4-blade, you will lose rpm and drop a bit in top end.

Mid-rpm cruise speed will improve (meaning you will be more stable and easier at planing speed and around the dock), as will the hole-shot.
