OK Guys, I have read a few posts on the shifting problems and read the manual but can't find the answer to my problem.
I just did the gimbal bearing and bellows on my 1990 Baja with an AlphaI GenI and a 4.3 V6. I ran the motor on rabbit ears and engaged the drive into forward but did not think to check reverse. When I put her in the water yesterday I had forward no problem and it sounds great, thanks for the exhaust tube vs. bellows advice. When I dropped into reverse it would engage and idle but as i gave it more throttle it would die, not due to fuel but I'm guessing the cut out switch.
Since I didn't change the cable, low hours since last changed, I didn't think I would have an adjustment problem.
Any suggestions? Should I follow the manual and treat it like a new cable?
Thanks.
