I have a ShoreLandr trailer for a Searay 185. We have a problem where the right tail light does not light for brake or blinker. However, there is power to the light. When you turn on the lights, the light illuminates. It just won't get darker for brakes or blink when the blinker is turned on. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks.

Welcome to iboats!

"Get darker" for brake?? It's supposed to get brighter. Anyway, the first thing to do is check the bulb. The brake and turn signal use the same filament in the bulb. If the bulb checks out, check the socket for corrosion. Next, you'll need to check for power in the green wire running to the light. Here is a diagram of trailer wiring:

To add to what NYBo said, make sure you have the correct bulb in the socket. You need a dual filament bulb (1157). If you have an 1156, you won't see any changes in the intensity of the light.
