1968 fisherman starter cord

Greetings all boaters! I have a 68 evinrude 6hp fisherman that the starter cord broke. Everything seems ok just broke due to age. Is this an esay fix? I read that you remove the plugs and simply rewind a new one. Anyone out there that knows how?
