What are the point and dwell settings for an 89 Merc 3.7, 165hp inline four? Thanks, rich

Try 35 until some one that really knows or has a books comes along

Nice try Lyle, but you missed the dwell on either distributor. :p :facepalm:

Depends on which distributor you have as to what the dwell will be.
Here is info from the service manual and a service bulletin that should answer your questions about timing and dwell.

Hey It looks like I might have gotten within one degree. For a hip shot Monday morning coming down I will take it. The slop in the bushing might help me out.
