Yeah im replacing a 35lb motor guide with a 55lb minn kota. I have 6 gauge wire running from my batteries, and also have 6 gauge wires coming from trolling motor foot pedal. My question is I dont know what to use to hook them up, most adapters and recepticals are only rated for 8-10 gauge. Probably a stupid question but just wanted to ask.... Any help will be much appreciated.... Thanx

I used a winch plug,handles 6 gauge easily.
They make adapters to handle 6 gauge wire, for some trolling motor recepticals.
I just found the winch plug locally(auto parts)and priced right.

Go to your local napa and get a set of grey plastic plus that are rated for 50 to 60 amps. crimp and solder the pins crimping is not enough!!! $13 ea. but woth it. I use two to plug the minn at the bow.
