Hey guys, newbie here. Just bought first boat (2001 Glastron 195 sx), everything ran fine for just a short while (5 minutes), heard knocking...got louder...so I shut the engine off to check engine and fluids. Saw the power steering was empty, so I filled it, but I think it may have already froze up because it won't start up now.
So, any suggestions? Do I need new pump? Is there a trick to get the fluid into the pump at this point? If I do need a new pump, will auto pump work? nothing about power steering on have I read that involves a lock up in any forum anywhere.

Thanks, ryan!

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard...

Take the belt off it, 'n try startin' the motor...

My guess is, the P/S has nothing to do with yer knocking issue...

I agree, I can't imagine that a power steering pump would make the engine knock.
