I am having performance problems with my newly purchased 1980 25HJP Johnston outboard. When the engine is cold or just starting out on the lake it runs fine (lots of power) but then when the engine warms up (3-5 mintes later) the engine bogs down (still runs) but seems to run on only 1 cylinder and idles fine in neutral. There is new mixed gas, new plugs, new fuel line from tank to motor, fuel filer is clear and clean, the water intake is not blocked, lean/rich setting has been adjusted. What next???
Also I have water spraying from the 2 exhaust ports (is this normal?) on the back of the motor as well as from the tell tale hose. HELP is appreciated!!!

Water blowing out of the exhaust is normal.

Since your problem starts only when the motor is warmed up, I would suspect a ignition problem. Inspect your wiring and coils for cracks. Even run your motor at night with the lights off, and look for any arcing. If your coils and wiring check out, I would then suspect the magneto.

go to advanced auto and purchase an inline gap spark tester.adjust it to 7/16 and see what u get when its tested.should be a strong blue spark and hear a zap.possible a carb issue.try the spark test first.
