Hi, I'm having issues with my 115 seahorse. I Got a new starter and put it in, but when i try to crank it over I get nothing. All i hear is the solenoid clicking. I've tried cleaning wired and grounds making sure that they were ok.
Is there a fuse somewhere that i could be missing? Also I've read on here about a safety switch, Would that cause the starter to not engage? If so where is it located? Ive tried a different solenoid off of a old evinrude and that didn't help the issue.
Ive checked the wires at the battery and replaced the battery as well. When I try to crank it sometimes the starter moves a little. Ive bypassed the solenoid and hooked it right to the starter, it spins when i do that, but still doesn't help me with whats going on. Thank you for any help!

Do you have the solenoid hooked up correctly? Double check all connections and let us know!

You should have voltage on the starter side of the solenoid when it clicks, if not you have a bad solenoid. If the solenoid clicks all the rest of the circut should be good. You said that if you bypass the solenoid the starter spins, sounds lke you need a new solenoid.

I really think its the solenoid now, I got the motor running by jumping that out and it stays running. So i really doubt its the safety switch at this point. I got a new one coming now I'll let you guys know if that was the issue once it gets here.
