1973 /25 hp johnson prop

Hi guys, this is my first time on here. I love the site! I would like to know if my 1973/ 25 hp Johnson prop is supposed to turn half a round with engine off and in gear. Seems like a whole lot of movement there. Or is it supposed to be that much. Maybe some wear in the gears . Runs great.

Yah thats normal.It has to do with the clutch dog and the gear ears only having two contact points 180 degrees off set.

Thanks a bunch. Thought I was going to have to tear into it. I work on cars not boats, but will try anything once and twice if it works.
