what shaft length for trolling motor for 18' horizon

Hi
I have a 1999 18' Four Winns H10. I want to install an electric trolling motor on bow and am wonder what shaft length I need.Also is a 55lbs 12volt system gonna be enough to move the boat. Any ideas and input would be appreciated;)

Ayuh,... Long enough so's the prop is a foot below the surface, from wherever ya gonna mount it...

I have a 24volt 80lb on my 20 ft maxum, and it does move it, but in higher winds using the trolling motor can become useless. If your going to use it alot a 24volt motor would be a far better choice.
