I researched these set backs and they seemed like a good thing in general. I found a brand new set at a marina "yard sale" for 50 bucks so I grabbed it. My Harvey dory rebuild will initially have a 50 hp on it and may be a little under powered. Would setting the outboard back 4" be a help or a hindrance if the boat is under powered as I expect? I plan to weigh the boat before I install anything. I know it is heavier than I initially anticipated. Is there a rule of thumb for how much weight a motor will push? It's a 20' flat bottom. Thanks for any help!
