Hi there; thanks to everyone on getting me this far. I have my Mercury 1986 3cyl 60 hp up and running. my issue is wireing the entire boat. MY sunbird was set up with Johnson controls and a evenrude motor. I am trying to set in tach, tilt, and charge gauges. I also have a twin cyl tilt mounted on transom that came with my motor. all i have done so far was solder extra lengths of wire and shrink taped from controler to dash and on back of boat from motor to what i think is for the tilt harness. any help or ideas again thanks in advance. Wes i can send pics of things i all ready done to boat.

Just a suggestion but you may try ordering the harness for your Evinrude motor if that is what fit the key to motor harness and rewire the harness to match your Mercury but personally I would just change the controls. Look on the auction sites or used boat motor dealers. Sometimes you can even look on Craigslist for a cheap boat that someone is almost junking just to get the controls off of it. In my area they are sometimes free but are without a motor or trailer but hey, if it fits and its free ....

For the $128 I paid for tilt throttle control would not be worth the hastle to rewire one.
