wather from thermostat???

1987 150 i have water steadily trickling from the hole in the center of the thermostat cover...what does that mean?

replace the cover? or replace the thermostat, diaphrams and gaskets?

The cover should be fine. The hole permits the atmospheric pressure to equlize around the pressure relief valve. Possible the rubber seal (diaphram) from the pressure relief valve has a hole in it. The internal parts are fairly inexpensive. In addition to a new cover gasket, I'd probably put a new stat in too, just for good measure.
