hey guys, I just picked up a 1995 170TF Nitro with a 60hp merc. I'm taking the 60 off and putting on a 1991 90hp Merc. Any ideas on how to mount it for the best performance? how high, what prop? the 60 was on the bottom hole with a 12" pitch prop and did 36mph.
thanks, Don

Can't help with your question, but is there a local tracker dealer nearby? Our local dealer is very knowledgeable and great with questions like this. Certainly worth a phone call.

The motor needs to be as high as possible usually the antivent plate(just above the prop)
needs to be even with to about an inch above the bottom. There is no set demension its trial and error. Also your final prop selection can help get the most height. The less you drag through the water the better.Your prop selection will depend on the boat. Nitro doesn't tell us much except it sounds like light and fast.Is Nitro a brand or model? Also your typical load and activities. If there is a prop on it run it and get the max rpm and speed.
