Need to know the WOT operating range for my motor 1997 Johnson 60 HP J60TLEUA, as the previous owner removed the decal.

4500 to 5500.

For BEST engine life, prop it to run at 5500 minimum with a light load.

The three cylinder "loopers" DO NOT like to lug. They like RPM's.

I'm seeing that model as having a range of 5000-6000...

Thanks, I am in the process of getting a tachometer and seeing where I am at with the RPM's. The motor is on an 18' pontoon with a 17p prop, I would imagine it is lugging now, but I will get a new prop once I see where it is.

pretty sure thats gonna be too much prop for a pontoon look for a loaner 15 pitch might even need to be lower than that your shooting for 5600-5800 rpm with just you and a tank of gas in it that way when you load it down she'll still be turning about 5400 or so- two strokes dont lug well for long especially not a the triple loopers

Well, got the tach working, turning 4400 rpm@ wot with the 17p prop, thinking of going with a Solas Amita 3 blade 11p to get me to around 5600 rpm @ wot. What do you think??
