Johnson 70 remote ? 1997?????????..
Does anybody know the correct initial position for the idle mixture adjustment screws ? The manual I have says 2 and threequarter turns in the spec, but the procedure section states 3 and a half turns ?
I have fitted a replacement powerhead with only 400 hours use and a known history, all the compressions are 130 -135 psi ?????? I did a link & sync but left the idle mixture adjustment alone as it seemed to be OK on the muffs ( I will admit it sounded a little rich).
On the muffs of out of gear the idle is about 950 rpm, however, in gear the idle drops to about 650 rpm and very slowly stalls after a few minutes. To me it sounds a bit rich, so my next stop was to set the idle mixture from scratch to hopefully give me 750 ? 800 rpm when in gear, but I can only really do this on the muffs and then try is out in the harbour.
I have checked the idle timing and it is OK.
