removing steering cable from rack assy ?

I have a binding steering cable on my 87 Four Winns 210 Horizon.... It's a rack and pinion style and it seems that it's riveted together..... Is there some way to remove the cable itself or do I need to buy a new assembly? The part number and name is worn off so I don't know who made this part.... :facepalm:

New assembly, dealing with that now, as long as the splines on your helm are still good, cable depending on lenght is about $120, they sell em here, search "teleflex rack" should brong up what ya need...

Speaking of which the guy I found on craigslist flaked on me and I still am looking for a used 8/12 foot rack assembly in northwest florida, destin area EDIT :)
